Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of Interpersonal Needs on Collaborative Learning Efforts during Participation in Group Assignments and Projects amongst Limkokwing University of Creative Technology students in Botswana. The Fundamental Interpersonal Relationship Orientation - Behaviour (FIRO-B) model was used to determine the extent to which students at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology collaborate during learning. The FIRO-B questionnaire instrument was distributed to 50 student-respondents who were randomly selected. SPSS was used to analyse the data using Descriptive Statistics (Mean and Standard Deviation). The results of the study revealed that Limkokwing University of Creative Technology students have high levels of interpersonal needs rated at (39 - 54) FIRO-B scores. Results indicated that students enjoyed engaging in collaborative learning in all areas of Inclusion, Control and Affection.
