Abstract

The aim of the study was to verify the influence of a coaching training program on the perception, comprehension, and capacity to deal with emotions in Portuguese teachers. The sample consisted of thirteen teachers with more than ten years of teaching experience, with a mean age of 48.73 years (SD = 6.26). Wilcoxon's test (p≤0.05) revealed statistically significant results in the ability to deal with emotions and with increases in the values of the emotional variables at the end of the program. We conclude that the coaching program will have had an influence on a dynamic of knowledge of the emotions in the participating individuals, being a key element in the different emotional experiences.
